Since 2009, I have been fulfilling pet portrait commissions from various friends, family members and folks in my community. Painted with gouache, acrylic, latex and spray paint on a square panel. With each Meehanimal, I aim to capture the personality and gaze of the animal with accuracy - utilizing vibrant textile-inspired repeat patterns in the background so the pet stands out and feels as if it is in the space with the viewer.
