This line of RadioActiveDaywear is the result of many hours at the sewing machine creating and crafting each garment by hand. I began fabricating them from vintage 90’s and 80’s swimwear and athletic-wear found at vintage stores, The patterns and prints on many of these old pieces of fabric directly inspire much of my own surface design collections today. The imperfect, wild, loose scratchy style of the brushstrokes, the color combinations, the boldness all inform my present-day work. RAD’s philosophy is “Work with what you’ve got”, meaning, you don’t need a big fancy budget to start something magical, just a bit of willingness.
